Now this is a cool development! Sony and FIFA has come together to film 25 World Cup games in 3-D to be aired in seven cities next summer: London, Berlin, Mexico City, Paris, Rio De Janeiro, Rome, and Sydney. It seems that there has been a push to film sports events in 3-D, as Panasonic has similar plans for the Winter Olympics. I think that it is great that companies are exploring the realms of 3-D technology! I, for one, would love to see the end result of this union! I would not mind being in Rome watching a live broadcast of a 3-D football game during the summer!

As you all have heard by now, Disney acquired Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion. Many are wondering (more like horrified!) how this will effect Marvel and the movies they produce. I really do think this is an interesting development for both companies, as Disney has had some very interesting projects the last few years. They did a good job turning around Miramax and improving the quality of the movies produced by the company. And let’s not forget about Pixar..who doesn’t love The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, and Monsters, Inc.

I do believe that this takeover will be to the benefit of Marvel Entertainment. Having Disney supporting you is not a bad idea because of the bigger audience that it can reel in. This is exactly what is need for comics to make up for lost grounds.

On a lighter note, I found these pictures on different people’s take on the acquisition that I thought were cool.
