I stumbled upon this song by Matt Hires while flipping through the channels on TV. It was used on the trailer for CW’s new show Life Unexpected. I do enjoy listening to this genre of music, as it fits the bill when I’m looking for music to chill out..not too fast or too slow. This is definitely different from the music T916 has been posting!

It seems that for the last few weeks I have been playing these songs constantly on my ipod. I do enjoy the different types of music in this playlist, even though all are mainstream! They are fun to listen to whether I was walking around getting things down before heading back to Kuwait, or while driving around. Check them out!

This time around my playlist has a mix of old and new music. Recently I have noticed that I have been downloading a lot of old music. Songs that remind me of listening to FM 99.7’s morning show on the way to school. I don’t mind it much, as it seems that the quality of music was so much better ten years ago! The music today is enjoyable, but just doesn’t have the same feel! Anyway, enough talk from me, here are my recommendations for now:

I have always been a fan of classic rock. I enjoy disconnecting from today’s music from time to time, and going back to the classics. One of my favorite bands of all time are The Beatles. I truly believe they are a band that will transcend time, and be able to be appreciated by many generations to come!

Here’s a small recap of this extremely talented band: “The story began in Harold Macmillan’s “never had it so good ’50s Britain. It should be fiction: four teenagers with no more than eight O’Levels between them, running and biking and busing and busking all over Liverpool in search of new chords and old guitars and half-decent drum kit and any gig at all. Six years later, they were the four most famous and musical men on earth, the best dressed and on a good day the most captivating people anyone can remember. ” The rest is history.

I was very happy when Apple announced that they would feature The Beatles music in their store!

I first heard “Fireflies” by Owl City on a TV show that I can not recall right now. I fell in love with their music right away, enjoying the electronic influence and mellow tones. Adam Young, Owl City’s lead singer, has a very unique voice that is different from the mainstream music that is currently playing on the radio. Another song I really like is “Vanilla Twilight.”

A few weeks ago, T916 introduced me to one of Boyce Avenue’s songs, and I decided to check out their music. Ever since then, their songs have been on repeat. I really enjoy this genreof music, and Boyce Avenue’s lead singer has a great voice that complements the band’s playing. They are not very mainstream right now, but given that their latest album just came out, and their current tour in Europe, I think they will gain popularity in a few months. If you like Coldplay, Cobra Starship, and similar music, you will enjoy their music!
